We offer work on small to medium trees and hedges.
Most Merritt yards don’t need a bucket truck. They need someone who will cut the ornamental, the fruit tree, and the hedge so they fit the house — and haul the mess. That’s this work: small to medium trees and hedges, done from the ground or a modest ladder.
We thin for light and structure, lift limbs off the roof and walk, and keep hedges a clean line instead of a blob. If a tree is too big, too close to a power line, or a hazard, we’ll say so and point you to a climbing arborist.

We’ll swing by
We’ll take a look and see what we’re dealing with — size, lean, what you want kept. If it’s past small-to-medium, we say so instead of guessing with a saw.

Cut for the plant
Clean cuts, not topping. Hedges get a line. Trees get light and structure so they don’t explode into water sprouts next year.

Haul it
Branches leave. You should see a finished yard, not a pile by the fence.
Questions we get
How big is small to medium?
Ornamentals, fruit trees, and hedges we can work from the ground or a household ladder. Mature street trees, big pines, and anything in the wires is arborist work — we’ll tell you rather than take it on.
Do you take the branches?
Yes. Chip and haul is part of the job unless you want the chips for beds.
When should we prune?
Late winter to early spring for most trees — before new growth, while they’re dormant. You can see the structure, and the cuts heal once sap flows. Skip fall: it pushes tender growth winter will kill, and leaves wounds open to disease. Dead or diseased wood can come out anytime. Hedges are different — we shear in late spring through summer, after the flush of growth.
